The smile on her face says it all,
Dr. Hodge loves what she does!
Medical background
Her medical journey began at The University of West Indies in Jamaica at the Mona Campus:
– BSC Honours in Chemistry and Biochemistry
– MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery).
After that she completed a year of family practice in The Cayman Islands and went on to earn a fellowship in internal medicine at The University of Toronto. She then went into endocrinology at The Women’s College Hospital and had an endocrine practice at St. Mike’s Hospital.
Her Story
Modica’s beginnings
Dr Hodge’s plan had always been to return to Montreal after her education in Toronto. Her husband was from Montreal (they got married while she was at medical school). Upon arriving in Montreal, she immediately started French lessons. Meanwhile, she and her husband decided to also start a medical aesthetics clinic, and Clinique Modica opened in 2009.
As she became more and more involved in the clinic, and after dealing with her own personal health scare, she decided to pivot out of clinical medicine to be able to spend more time with her two children. She never looked back. In her words Dr. Hodge says, “I simply love what I do!”
“Medical aesthetics is about beauty for sure, but it’s also about health and monitoring skin conditions that could turn into something serious. I’m not a dermatologist, but I know how important annual skin surveillance is, and I can start that ball rolling by warning my clients about red flags and signs to look out for. I can then recommend a
walk-in clinic, or a visit to their family doctor, to obtain a referral to a dermatologist. In situations like these, Clinique Modica, is a good first step and a valuable healthcare asset.”

Community Spirit
In her spare time, Dr Hodge also volunteers at Tyndale St Georges Community Center.
Dr Hodge has also been a member of the Victoria Village Merchants Association since 2010 and became a board member in 2016. She presently holds the position of treasurer.
She also serves as a director on the board of The Children of the Caribbean.
Her favourite colour is purple, with fuchsia and red coming in a close second and third.
